So, I'm Sidney, I've been tattooing for four years now. 

Thanks to my training I have developed a way of designing tattooing that takes into account the feminine sensibility, like my favorite photographer Francesca Woodman.

​

I started by making small graphic subjects, to which I started adding watercolor, color! (black and gray too, but hey ^^) 

I am also very attentive to projects with several elements to harmonize, such as graphic compositions and writings.  

​

Besides that, I also work on more traditional projects, with my Scottish origins, the Viking has imposed on me, do research, and find the symbols adapted to what you want :)

Well, I will try to explain my working method in a few words.

Already I share my work always in agreement with my darling who is my best collaborator because, it can happen that the work is not for me, or rather for her. I usually take care of more classic pieces.

I start the session by listening to the person. This is where I get the key to my inspiration based on his story, his life.

I show him visual references like photos, paintings, statues. If this stimulation doesn't work, I suggest listening to some music. My intention is to find the subject's deepest feeling, his emotions, so I try to draw them.

It can happen, sometimes, that it looks like a difference between what a person asks and what they don't say but that's what they really want in the tattoo.
My goal is to design something unique, truly unique. The subject must be able to identify with the selected tattoo.
My goal is the interpretation of his life experience.
I do not post any catalog online and sometimes it is not easy to explain my way of proceeding because I use a multidisciplinary approach as in contemporary art.
The session begins with a simple and informal dialogue. Step by step we explore the pieces of memory, important events and experiences because human perception is like a labyrinth, a puzzle: complex but it has fixed rules.
At the end of the session, I realize that I have spoken with a person like me more than a client, and of course, I use my knowledge of symbolism, mythology, Zen philosophy and the art to structure a first idea.

If the project requires more elements, I consult specialists in different fields, mathematics, Egyptology, physics, chemistry, etc. It also happens that there are elements hidden in the composition, because it is a Renaissance tradition that allows me to say what people do not want to show openly.
When everything is ready, I sometimes draw everything in pencil to get a general graphic view, so I modify the composition if necessary.

Then I finish by adding a touch of paint. In order to balance the precision of photo-realism with a touch of freedom.
I need someone who really feels the urge for a quality tattoo to find the helpful inspiration I need to develop the steps in my method. It belongs to my style, otherwise it is difficult for me to find the right vibe for an artistic creation.
At the end of the dialogue session, it is fundamental to have a point of agreement with the client, otherwise it is really difficult for me to accept. Because it is also a question of ethics for me.
